In furtherance of the Hope for Humanity campaign which it championed alongside notable corporate sustainability firm, CSR-In-Action in August; foremost reputation management outfit Zenera Consulting joined other prominent organisations and personalities to mark the launch of the Olusegun Oladiran Adebutu (OOA) Foundation in the historic city of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The landmark event, which held at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel last weekend, saw individuals from all walks of life converge to restore hope to the internally displaced children in the society.
The Foundation, whose mantra is ‘Leave No Child Behind’, was primarily established to eradicate poverty, build prosperous communities and foster collective development of the vulnerable members of the society. Founded by Olusegun Oladiran Adebutu, Chairman of Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited, the platform seeks to nurture the lives of young internally displaced children by providing them food, clothing, shelter and most importantly, education.
The foundation achieved its goal of securing full sponsorship for 300 children with the help of esteemed members of the society who were present at the occasion. It is in line with this that Zenera Consulting also sponsored two children in the care of OOA Foundation. The sponsorship will cater for the educational, nutritional, housing, health and all other basic requirements for the overall growth and productivity of the children.
“One of the key features of a prosperous country is to promote the quality of life of its citizens, especially children. Therefore, the task of providing basic needs for the displaced children in our society must be handled deliberately and collectively. That is why at Zenera Consulting, we will continue to advocate better welfare for our youth nationwide,” said Meka Olowola, Managing Partner, Zenera Consulting and Youth Entrepreneurship Summit Chairman.
In the buildup to the launch, the OOA Foundation had made plans to visit the rural parts of Ogun State, inaugurate local support groups that would help facilitate the delivery of qualitative humanitarian aid to the target population and announce various relief schemes under the OOA Foundation umbrella. Although nascent, these schemes such as the Education Intervention; Food and Nutrition Intervention and the Shelter Intervention have since been activated for the benefit of the host communities.
Amidst strong emotions and excitement, the beneficiaries on their part thrilled the audience to spectacular performances such as dance, drama, music and colourful displays of the African culture, with the major highlight being the live accounts of past experiences given by some of the children in attendance.
The event also had in attendance top dignitaries such as former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Chairman Premier Lotto Limited, Sir Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu, Former SFG, Amb. Baba Gana Kingibe among others. The official partners of the event were UNICEF, Mimi Noodles, Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited, Zenera Consulting among others.
