NEPC Women In Export Programme (WEP)

The Women in Export Programme (WEP) organized by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council in conjunction with Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited, held on July 13, 2016 at the International Exhibition Centre, Abuja. The programme is designed to take specific measures and targeted support policies to ensure the mobilization, inclusion, empowerment and full participation of rural Nigerian women at the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) and women-owned SME businesses into mainstream development process, particularly in non-oil export trade. The event had in attendance, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Buhari, Wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, Executive Director/CEO NEPC, Mr. Segun Awolowo, Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Mr. Tony Elumelu, renowned international development consultant, Mrs. Kemi Sokenu-Morris, among other notable dignitaries.

Saving The Girl Child Campaign

With Anita Okanigbe-John as its initiator, the Saving the Girl Child campaign against child sexual abuse was launched under the Tsori Foundation, an NGO which she founded for rape and sexual violence victims. The STGC occasion took place on May 27, 2016 in the heart of Lagos and it featured interactive sessions and lectures delivered by renowned speakers such as Tonye Cole, Meka Olowola and a host of other well-meaning Nigerians. The event also saw donations towards the establishment of a Trauma Centre for victims of child sexual abuse.

SITEI 2015

The 4th Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) Conference held on Thursday, 19th November, 2015 at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja and it was quite a success. With active participation from key stakeholders including the State Minister for Solid Minerals, Abubakar Bwari, as well as industry leaders from the private sector, the public sector and civil society organisations, SITEI 2015, participants at the conference were treated to a wealth of thought-provoking insights into the state of the Nigerian extractive industries.

Kola Aluko Foundation Supports Bonhams New Media 2014

One of Nigeria’s leading entrepreneurs, Kola Aluko announced in detail the Kola Aluko Foundation, a charitable venture he established in 2013 in order to inspire, mentor and support future generations of African leader. A reception to open the Nigerian Centenary Photography Exhibition held at Bonhams, who are the world-famous auctioneers in London and was hosted by the Kola Aluko Foundation. The exhibition in celebration of Nigeria’s Centenary, according to Bonhams showcased what they described as “an astonishing collection of photography documenting Nigeria’s rich and diverse cultural heritage”. The show and its related educational programme was the first in a series of major cultural events being supported by the Kola Aluko Foundation, designed to encourage a deeper understanding of Nigeria and the 54 countries of the African continent.

May,2014 (3C-Index) Launch

The 3C-Index (CSR-in-Action Corporate Citizenship Index) was introduced to the Collective Social Investment Report as a catalyst to the objectives of the CISR – to promote sustainability practices in organisations in Nigeria. The index was launched at the Centre for Values and Leadership in May 2014 to the company of the press, notable stakeholders and nation builders.

SITEI 2014

Expectations were exceeded at the 3rd Sustainability in the Extractive Industries Conference which focused on Local Content Participation, Accountability and Transparency in the Nigerian Extractive Industries. The conference which was well attended by industry leaders and yielded an impressive amount of youth participation as designed by CSR-in-Action in partnership with Zenera Consulting.

SITEI 2013

The Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) conference – organized annually by CSR-in-Action – saw expert and professionals focus on Policy, Affirmative Action and Sustained Growth with key speakers including Obiageli Ezekwesili, Emeka Ene, Anthonia Obiageli Onuorah, Uwem Ite, Jeffrey Corey, Desmond Majekodunmi, and Zenera Consulting’s Meka Olowola.

CEO Round Table

May 2014 witnessed the dogged commitment of Zenera Consulting to sustainable development in Nigeria, in convening the CEO Roundtable of 30 top CEOs in blue-chip companies in Nigeria at the Federal Palace Hotel. This birthed the Nigerian Business Coalition for Sustainable Development – a charter of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
